Samburu, Ol Pejeta, & Masai Mara

This is the ultimate private luxury safari through Kenya. You will fly between the wildlife sanctuaries and stay at a range of superb safari camps. Enjoy outstanding wildlife viewing at three locations within Kenya, including Samburu—a small but unique sanctuary in the semi arid north, Ol Pejeta—a private wildlife sanctuary on the Equator at Mount Kenya that boasts the country’s only chimpanzee refuge and the  Masai Mara—one of the finest wildlife locations on the African continent.

Day 1: Nairobi

Upon arrival in Nairobi you will be met and transported to your luxury hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure at your hotel.

Day 2: Samburu

After an early breakfast you will fly to Samburu, via Nairobi. Enjoy a game viewing drive en route to your luxury safari camp situated alongside the Uaso Nyiro River. In the late afternoon enjoy a superb game viewing drive in the sanctuary, home to the rare and unusual Reticulated giraffe, the long necked gerenuk, the Grevy’s zebra and the Beisa Oryx.

Day 3: Samburu

Today you will explore the Samburu Game Reserve. Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives. Samburu is a relatively small wildlife sanctuary with remarkable scenery and excellent diversity of animal and bird species. During your stay here you will also enjoy a short nature trek along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River—the river that flows through the heart of the sanctuary. Your local Samburu guide and a wildlife ranger assist with details of the local flora and fauna.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta

After breakfast you leave Samburu behind and drive south through the town of Isiolo. There will be a photo opportunity at the Equator before arriving at Ol Pejeta.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta

Spend your day exploring Ol Pejeta wildlife sanctuary. You’ll join exciting game viewing activities in the reserve with your guide. There’s an opportunity to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one in Kenya, where abandoned and rescued animals are rehabilitated into the wild. You may also visit and get a photo with Morani, the resident rhino.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Today you fly over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve where you will be met for your first game drive en route to your luxury safari camp located in the wildlife rich “Mara Triangle”. You can look forward to a late afternoon game viewing drive in the Masai Mara.

Day 7 & 8: Masai Mara

Spend the next two days discovering the famous Masai Mara on exciting game viewing drives. You’ll also have the opportunity of joining the optional dawn hot air balloon excursion—gliding over the herds on the savannah is the experience of a lifetime!

Day 7 & 8 - Related Activities

Guided nature walks

Led by trained safari guide, enjoy a guided nature walk within the grounds of the lodge. These walks are ideal for children and offer fascinating insight into fauna and flora of the area.

Day 9: Masai Mara - Nairobi

Today you bid the Masai Mara farewell. Participate in one last early morning game drive, finishing in a special “breakfast with the hippo” on the banks of the Talek River, before you are taken to the Mara airstrip for your journey to Nairobi and your onward flight.
