The First of its Kind – Cape Town’s New Fynbos and Apothecary Workshop Experiences

Innovative new experiences wait to be discovered in one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of Cape Town, the Company Gardens. This was once the location where the Dutch East India Company would grow fruit and vegetables for their naval fleets as early as 1652. Today, this experience is hosted by the Cape Heritage Trust in the former gardener’s home.

Fynbos is a family of plant species that are indigenous to the southern tip of the African continent and is used in a range of culinary, medicinal, homeware and spa products because its unique qualities.

For the Fynbos experience, you will be guided through fragrant tea infusions, edible naturals, infused oils and cordials that will give you a fascinating insight into the Cape Floral Kingdom’s vegetation. For the Apothecary workshop, you will experiment with Fynbos herbs and rare essential oils and create your own range of culinary accompaniments and spa type products to take home with you.
