is providing running water to the community of Henna through a giving corporate partner, being a South African during the 2010 Soccer World Cup and shaking the hand of Nelson Mandela.

is South Africa where I see the reward and joy on my guests' faces as they experience up-close encounters with the Big 5, where I can look at Table Mountain daily or experience the dark skies of Sutherland that lights the sky with stars beyond imagination.

because just like this wonderful continent, no day is the same. Being exposed to such diverse requests and having to manage groups coming to Africa is a rewarding experience. Seeing guests’ faces when they spot a lion for the first time on safari, or to experience the majesty of Table Mountain – that makes this “job” the best!

include handling the travel logistics for 6000 delegates of The Watchtower group in 2009; working with Host Broadcasting Services during the Confederations Cup in 2009 and the Soccer World Cup in 2010; the varied programs of some very exciting incentive groups in 2011 and 2012.

My favourite Southern African destinations
are Namibia for being by far one of the most beautiful countries in the world, you will be strained to find a more diverse country, with breathtaking and ever changing landscapes; Victoria Falls, because seeing this spectacular sight always leaves me humbled by the majesty of God’s creation; Sabi Sand where you can hear the lion roar before you fall asleep, the hippos grunt when you wake up, and the "Go away bird!" call while on safari; Cape Town because everything about this city is vibrant – from its history and architecture, to our food that is colorful and spicy – just like the people! and the Overberg – not just because I grew up here, but because of the beauty of the South Coast, with its Southern Right Whales and Great White Sharks, and the smell of Fynbos always leaves me with the “I am home” feeling.

My top travel tip for Southern Africa
is to come ready to experience a country of diversity and rich history – filled with people as colourful and assorted as the landscape they inhabit. Be prepared to slow way down and just be – taking in all that is Africa.

I have so many, each one is unique. Working on an Incentive in the Greater Kruger area for a group of 470 staying at 17 different safari lodges were pretty epic, planning and managing such a big logistical puzzle were a great experience. Another big highlight was managing an Incentive in the Mara for 3 nights at Governors Camp, absolutely amazing destination.

My favourite Southern African destination
Besides the Sabi Sands and Kruger Area, definitely Victoria Falls – such a magical place and the people are so welcoming, humble and beautiful! If you ask me about East Africa, I won’t be able to stop raving about my favourite locations.

A big friendly smile will get you very far! And never travel without a good SPF sunscreen.

My most memorable Grosvenor Tour experience is
I am new to the team but have had the opportunity to enjoy a four course meal on the luxurious Rovos Rail on the way from Cape Town to Worcester, cruising through the inland of the magnificent Cape Winelands.

My favourite Southern African destination is
the spectacular Victoria Falls. The sound of the roaring waters and the colourful rainbows are breathtaking! It’s a destination for all seasons; simply explore the viewpoints on foot or enjoy an exciting helicopter ride. The sunset on the Zambezi River is indescribable and offers a sense of pure nature. To top it all off, add a superb Botswana safari for a journey that can only be described as “absolutely perfect”!

My top travel tip for Southern Africa
Plan ahead so you don’t have any unpleasant surprises. Bring walking shoes, sunglasses, medication and insect repellent. If you forget anything, don’t panic – you can buy whatever you need here. Most importantly, ensure all your travel documents are in order.

include the Kruger Area – no words can explain the breathtaking experience of getting up close with the Big 5 or watching the sunset over the African plains. There’s something about it all that puts everything into perspective; Cape Town is such a beautiful coastal city with one of the world’s new 7 wonders, Table Mountain as its backdrop. It is rich in culture and has something to offer to everyone, either within the city or just a short drive away; the Garden Route – this beautiful scenic drive along the eastern coast of South Africa has plenty to offer to the nature enthusiast; from visiting beautiful beaches, forests and caves, to taking a cruise on the Knysna lagoon, to petting cheetahs, feeding elephants and even riding ostriches!

is that no visit is complete without going on a safari, but be sure to leave sufficient time to explore other destinations as the cities also have so much to offer.
