is providing running water to the community of Henna through a giving corporate partner, being a South African during the 2010 Soccer World Cup and shaking the hand of Nelson Mandela.

is South Africa where I see the reward and joy on my guests' faces as they experience up-close encounters with the Big 5, where I can look at Table Mountain daily or experience the dark skies of Sutherland that lights the sky with stars beyond imagination.

because just like this wonderful continent, no day is the same. Being exposed to such diverse requests and having to manage groups coming to Africa is a rewarding experience. Seeing guests’ faces when they spot a lion for the first time on safari, or to experience the majesty of Table Mountain – that makes this “job” the best!

include handling the travel logistics for 6000 delegates of The Watchtower group in 2009; working with Host Broadcasting Services during the Confederations Cup in 2009 and the Soccer World Cup in 2010; the varied programs of some very exciting incentive groups in 2011 and 2012.

My favourite Southern African destinations
are Namibia for being by far one of the most beautiful countries in the world, you will be strained to find a more diverse country, with breathtaking and ever changing landscapes; Victoria Falls, because seeing this spectacular sight always leaves me humbled by the majesty of God’s creation; Sabi Sand where you can hear the lion roar before you fall asleep, the hippos grunt when you wake up, and the "Go away bird!" call while on safari; Cape Town because everything about this city is vibrant – from its history and architecture, to our food that is colorful and spicy – just like the people! and the Overberg – not just because I grew up here, but because of the beauty of the South Coast, with its Southern Right Whales and Great White Sharks, and the smell of Fynbos always leaves me with the “I am home” feeling.

My top travel tip for Southern Africa
is to come ready to experience a country of diversity and rich history – filled with people as colourful and assorted as the landscape they inhabit. Be prepared to slow way down and just be – taking in all that is Africa.

I have so many, each one is unique. Working on an Incentive in the Greater Kruger area for a group of 470 staying at 17 different safari lodges were pretty epic, planning and managing such a big logistical puzzle were a great experience. Another big highlight was managing an Incentive in the Mara for 3 nights at Governors Camp, absolutely amazing destination.

Besides the Sabi Sands and Kruger Area, definitely Victoria Falls – such a magical place and the people are so welcoming, humble and beautiful! If you ask me about East Africa, I won’t be able to stop raving about my favourite locations.

A big friendly smile will get you very far! And never travel without a good SPF sunscreen.

My most memorable Grosvenor Tour experience is
I am new to the team but have had the opportunity to enjoy a four course meal on the luxurious Rovos Rail on the way from Cape Town to Worcester, cruising through the inland of the magnificent Cape Winelands.

My favourite Southern African destination is
the spectacular Victoria Falls. The sound of the roaring waters and the colourful rainbows are breathtaking! It’s a destination for all seasons; simply explore the viewpoints on foot or enjoy an exciting helicopter ride. The sunset on the Zambezi River is indescribable and offers a sense of pure nature. To top it all off, add a superb Botswana safari for a journey that can only be described as “absolutely perfect”!

My top travel tip for Southern Africa
Plan ahead so you don’t have any unpleasant surprises. Bring walking shoes, sunglasses, medication and insect repellent. If you forget anything, don’t panic – you can buy whatever you need here. Most importantly, ensure all your travel documents are in order.

I can truly say that I eat, live and sleep conferences and events. How can you not be, if ‘office’ means being based in Africa’s leading conference destination and a desk overlooking Table Mountain. I am also very proud to play a leading role in the shaping of Southern Africa’s conference and event industry in my role as the National Chairperson of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI). SAACI is the voice of the conference and event industry in South Africa.

In 2013 I was part of the Fortune Global Forum event production team and was based in Chengdu, China for 3 months with my family. This was an extraordinary experience in every sense of the word!

Always focus on the delegates’ experience; when we get wrapped up in the logistics we sometimes oversee small but important touchpoints, which can make or break the conference. When challenges pop up always remember to keep calm and carry on – no matter what!

My most memorable Grosvenor Tours experience
was assisting on a familiarization trip around Cape Town for our Brazilian agents. It was a very pleasant experience as their awe and excitement about what the city had to offer was contagious and reminded me of why I love to work in this industry.

My favourite Southern African destinations and experiences
include the Kruger Area – no words can explain the breathtaking experience of getting up close with the Big 5 or watching the sunset over the African plains. There’s something about it all that puts everything into perspective; Cape Town is such a beautiful coastal city with one of the world’s new 7 wonders, Table Mountain as its backdrop. It is rich in culture and has something to offer to everyone, either within the city or just a short drive away; the Garden Route – this beautiful scenic drive along the eastern coast of South Africa has plenty to offer to the nature enthusiast; from visiting beautiful beaches, forests and caves, to taking a cruise on the Knysna lagoon, to petting cheetahs, feeding elephants and even riding ostriches!

My top travel tip for Southern Africa
is that no visit is complete without going on a safari, but be sure to leave sufficient time to explore other destinations as the cities also have so much to offer.

because it is such an easy selling destination! And it is wonderful to be able to offer travellers a unique experience in the world that we all live in. And no day is the same.

My most memorable Grosvenor Tours experience
was to have had the opportunity to visit Botswana. It was a destination I thought I would never get to see. Viewing the vast landscapes, as well as hippos and elephants from a nippy Cessna 206 was an exhilarating and very special experience. And most recently, to have been a part of the Skydive for Rhino 2012 campaign, raising money for such a worthy cause and to have gained one of the most memorable experiences in my life, jumping out of a plane at 10 000 feet!

My favourite Southern African experiences
happened when I visited the Thornybush Game Lodge in the Timbavati area, adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park. It was my first experience of a game lodge and seeing wild animals up close, including the Big 5 (all for the first time!), which is always a must-see. It was with the same pre-conceived ideas of the travellers that I had been looking for that I went, and I found the lodge, the high level of service, the abundant game viewing and the destination, all exceeded my expectations. Other amazing experiences included seeing a male lion for the first time and watching him crack open a tortoise with such ease; seeing a herd of elephants; standing under a baobab tree; flying in a light aircraft; watching a female wild dog with her young litter, seeing the abundant birdlife and the list can go on – and it can all be in just one trip. It was all very special to me.

is pack only what you need.

The feedback which I receive from agents, guides and travellers, is that that I am professional, friendly and good to work with. I am thorough in my execution and pay a lot of attention to the details. They feel that they have been taken care of before and during travel. On their return home, I have often received been told, “Thank you for a trip of a lifetime”, which makes me proud to have been a part of making that happen. No matter what happens behind the scenes, I find that the most important thing is for the traveller to have experienced a wonderful holiday in one of the best destinations in the world.
