I am passionate about guiding guests in Southern Africa as having been born and bred in Cape Town, I know that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I enjoy the honour and privilege in showing it and its awesome surroundings off to all our visitors. I think that South Africa has the most unique diversity and culture of any country in the world and I want everybody to experience it for themselves.
My most memorable guiding experiences are really varied as each group I guide is different. I see the same places through different eyes every time and I enjoy each tour and group.
My favourite Southern African destinations and experiences include Table Mountain - I always enjoy the views from the top and they are the best in the world; Knysna and the Featherbed Nature Reserve experience – having spent many holidays, while growing up, along the Garden Route, it is Mother Nature at her very best and the Garden Route makes it clear that humans cannot create anything as great as Nature; the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn is a natural phenomenon that is spectacular and it is an awesome experience to tour around the caves; the sheer beauty and natural surroundings always make Tsitsikamma and Storm’s River mouth a pleasurable tour; and any Game Reserve because to be able to see wild animals so close and in nature can be rather a humbling experience when we consider how we have treated the natural world.
What makes me an excellent guide? I love History and enjoy talking to people. I’m interested in how other cultures and people live and enjoy the interaction. I have probably learnt more in my 10 years of guiding and travelling, than all my time at school and University. I am a friendly and caring person and just want to create for each and every tourist that comes to SA, a special experience that will make them want to come back again.Back to Our Team
