Kenya is home to wildlife-rich reserves, beautiful lakes and striking landscapes—a bucket list destination for any nature enthusiast!

Here is our spotlight on some of the places to visit when traveling to Kenya.

The Masai Mara is famous for its scenic wildlife encounters, The Great Migration and the rich, cultural tradition of the Masai Mara people recognized by their vibrant red attire, elaborate jewelry and distinct way of dancing.

For impressive views of Mount Kilimanjaro, visit Amboseli National Park, where the famous volcanic mountain also forms the picture-perfect backdrop to hundreds of Africa’s big-tuskers. Game viewing here is excellent and the lush wetlands provide beautiful scenery.

The freshwater Lake Naivasha is a world-class birding destination with floating islands of papyrus reeds. It’s also home to many hippos and other wildlife, such as giraffes.

Lake Nakuru is a soda lake best known for its outstanding numbers of flamingos – which love the warm, alkaline waters – and resulting colors of pinks, blues and greens. It’s also a sanctuary for Black and White rhinos.

Some of the country’s other treasures include Mount Kenya – Africa’s second highest mountain coming in at a close second after Kili – standing jagged, proud and tall above the surrounding plains.
