The South African Urological Association (SAUA) invites local and global industry professionals to gather and address important urological topics through a dynamic programme at their bi-annual congress. Grosvenor was appointed as the professional congress organiser for the 2018 SAUA Congress which was hosted at Spier in Stellenbosch.

The conference was attended by 300 delegates from 14 countries.
The flow of the program
Day 1, 2, 3: Seven hands-on, interactive pre-congress workshops were held at the Tygerberg medical campus of the University of Stellenbosch.
Day 1 & 2: The SAUA co-hosted the annual two-day congress of the South African Urology Nurses Association (SAUNA).
Day 2: The SAUA hosted a one-day Refresher Course for General Practitioners.
Day 3, 4, 5: The main conference and three parallel breakaway sessions were held over three days at Spier.
Key highlights
- Spier is one of the leading conference venues in the Western Cape and provided a perfect setting to mix business with leisure. Most delegates stayed in the Spier Hotel and could walk to the conference venue.
- The wine estates and award winning restaurants in the Stellenbosch area provided the perfect backdrop for unique experiences before and after the conference.
- A Welcome Celebration event at Spier with entertainment provided by two local urologists. The event was presented as a local market and delegates could visit various interactive food stations.
- A cheetah encounter and Academy dinner at the popular Eight restaurant at Spier.
- A fully connected mobile office pod were placed at the entrance of the conference venue and was available for private meetings throughout the conference.
- A Gala dinner & dance was held at Spier with the popular DJ Rene as the main act.
- An interactive exhibition with 30 exhibitors and sponsors.
