In South Africa, on the 18th of July each year, we celebrate Mandela Day. In honour of Nelson Mandela’s birthday, we spend our time in remembrance of his dedication to making the world a better place. This year’s Mandela Day theme was ‘Action Against Poverty’ and we were thrilled to get involved with the 9Miles Project.

The 9Miles Project is a registered non-profit organisation supporting and providing mentorship to the youth in the coastal informal settlements of Cape Town, Elands Bay and St Francis Bay.

We spent some time in the 7de Laan township distributing clothing and toys to Vonny’s Baby Centre. We then headed to the 9Miles Club House to help paint an inspirational Surf Wall. Afterwards the 9Miles Project staff and kids were treated to lunch kindly provided by our valued partner in this project; Venturescapes Events.
