Hwange National Park in western Zimbabwe is the destination on the top of our minds this week! Here’s why you should include it in your itinerary.
- Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest game reserve (approximately 14 600 km²) and offers some of the best game viewing experiences in the country! With a great variety of mammal species, such as large herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra, as well as the mighty predators, your safari is sure to impress.
- The park’s varied landscape, including grassland, woodland and desert sand, allows for prolific game viewing all-year-round.
- Hwange is an easy extension to your Victoria Falls stay. Located a mere 2½ hours’ road transfer (to Hwange Main Camp Gate) or a short 1-hour charter flight from the Falls, access is easy!
- Accommodation for different tastes and budgets is provided at a number of game lodges. We particularly love the intimacy offered at Wilderness Safaris’ Little Makalolo Camp.
