Tswalu Kalahari is in the southern region of South Africa’s Kalahari savanna and is the essence of an exclusive getaway, forming part of National Geographic’s ‘Unique Lodges of the World’. Tswalu Kalahari is home to Tarkuni and the Motse in this unique wilderness where creatures such as the black-maned lion, black and white rhino and a wealth of rare and endangered species roam. The Motse was closed earlier this year to undergo an extensive renovation process and has been re-opened after its reinvention and redesign. The Motse is now a secluded ‘village’ that features nine legae (dwellings), each with their own viewing deck and open fireplace. Each legae is a piece of paradise, where bathrooms have been created with private gardens and an outdoor showers to wash under the vast, starry Kalahari sky.
