Mana Pools National Park is Zimbabwe’s trending choice for a safari, and for good reason.

This rugged African landscape is situated in the northern region of Zimbabwe, on the southern banks of the Zambezi River, and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national park is remarkable in its beauty and is a remote, never-crowded destination that offers some of the best classic, walking and canoeing safaris.

This pristine game reserve is celebrated for its wildlife, with the likes of elephant, lion and leopard featuring. Wildlife sightings in Mana Pools are something quite spectacular but the park’s biggest drawcard is that it is one of the best places in Africa to see the endangered wild dogs, the beautiful “Painted Wolves” of the African continent.

Towards the end of 2018, the BBC filmed these animals for months, along with wildlife photographer, Nick Dyer, who then captured the viral and striking image of a couple of wild dog cubs during a baboon kill. This is where Africa is at its most raw and riveting and Mother Nature’s show takes center stage.
