Day 4: Cape Town – Cape Winelands

After breakfast, you will be transferred from the Radisson Blu Waterfront to the Cape Winelands where you will spend the evening at Lanzerac Hotel & Spa. During the day, you will enjoy a private full day Cape Winelands excursion with an English-speaking guide. This tour is all about the country's premium wine destinations of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek (plus lunch for own account). Your tour starts in the Paarl Valley and its rolling landscape of vineyards. Here, you can enjoy a wine tasting and cellar tour at one of the estates. You then continue to the beautiful village of Franschhoek, founded in 1688 by French immigrants. A memorial in the town commemorates the arrival of these early settlers who helped develop the wines sought after by Napoleon, Bismark and royalty such as Edward VII, the Prince of Wales. Here we will stop for lunch (for own account) and another wine tasting at a vineyard. Next is Stellenbosch - historic heart of the country's wine region. Here you can enjoy a final wine tasting before returning to your hotel. Includes: Vehicle. Guide. 3 x wine tasting and 1 x cellar tour. Excludes: All meals. All other sightseeing. Personal expenses and any services not specified.

Lanzerac Hotel & Spa:

Located in the beautiful Jonkershoek Valley on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, the 5 Star Lanzerac Hotel and Spa offers luxurious accommodation in 48 en-suite rooms set in a restored Cape Dutch manor house. The property with its award-winning gardens, numerous swimming pools, gourmet dining options and sumptuous spa promises a very relaxing and romantic stay. The hotel is set on a working wine farm and so guests have easy access to the wine cellar and tasting centre where both wine tasting and innovative wine and food pairing experiences are offered daily. Guests will be spoilt with the delightful cuisine served at the a la carte Governors Hall restaurant and on the Terrace. The Esquire Whisky and Cigar Lounge is a popular choice for sundowner drinks. There is plenty to do in the surrounds from hiking, biking and horse riding to wildlife encounters, wine tasting and cultural excursions.

Day 5-6: Cape Winelands – Greater Kruger Safari

After breakfast, you will be privately transferred from Lanzerac Hotel & Spa by an English-speaking guide to Cape Town International Airport. You will then be flown to Hoedspruit (flight excluded and for own arrangement) and on arrival, be privately transferred by an English-speaking driver from Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport to Karongwe River Lodge for the next two nights.

Karongwe Private Game Reserve:

Karongwe River Lodge lines itself along the banks of the Makhutswi River. It is a five-star safari immersion. The Big 5-lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino-call this area home but keep a look out for cheetah, giraffe and the brown spotted hyena. When you aren’t being whisked away on game drives, you will be sipping sundowners as you watch the sun set behind the Drakensberg Mountains. You’ll then return to this riverfront lodge to feast on Pan African cuisine, something that Karongwe River Lodge is celebrated for. Dine under starry skies in a rustic boma, reveling in the warmth of the fire and a satisfied palate. Private decks bring the river to you and watching an elephant drink or hearing a hippo grunt from the privacy of your room, is an extraordinary African moment.

After your morning safari activity (time-permitting) and a scrumptious breakfast you will be transferred to the Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport to connect with your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.

Without the professional, timeous and effortless support from Zelda and her team this historical event would have been impossible and probably sub-standard. I can highly recommend them for your next event – be it big or small.
