Solo Travel…

Are you traveling solo on your next African adventure? Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your experience and embrace the destination – solo.

  • Opt for Smaller, More Intimate Hotels or Guest Houses, where service is personalized, guests are greeted by name, and staff take keen interest in their visitors. One of our favorites in Cape Town is the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel. This 15-room luxury experience is ideally located just off Kloof Street in town and is within walking distance to a variety of great dining options.
  • Join Guided Group Excursions. This is a wonderful way to see and experience a destination while getting to know fellow travelers without the hassle of finding your way on your own. We are able to recommend a variety of interesting and exciting guided excursions, from cycling through Cape Town while tasting local delights, to a Jazz Safari in Johannesburg where visitors are welcomed into the home of a local jazz musician for dinner.
  • Communal Dining & Safaris. If you’re looking for a safari experience, book a game lodge such as the 5-star Savanna Lodge in South Africa’s famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve where communal dining is encouraged. This is a great way to share experiences with other guests and listen to tales of the bush recounted by your game ranger.
