Eco-friendly Travel Tips…

21/08/2018
If you’re planning your next vacation, your excitement could overshadow how important it is to travel in an eco-friendly way. Here are five things you can do to leave as small an environmental footprint as possible.

  • Ditch the plastic bags, water bottles & straws. The United Nations has predicted that by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. It’s pretty simple: refuse it, if you can’t re-use it.
  • Pack light! Every kilogram counts when you’re flying and the more a plane weighs the more carbon emissions it produces. Pack only what you need.
  • Treat your hotel as if it were your own home. Try not to get clean towels if it’s not necessary, take short showers, and switch off all lights and air-conditioning when you’re out (something frequently forgotten).
  • Eat & drink locally. Eating local produce equates to eating seasonal produce, which in essence is more in tune with Mother Nature. Of course, eating locally helps the local economy as well and is healthier for you. It’s a win all around!
  • Choose a tour operator committed to environmentally friendly travel. Grosvenor Tours respects the environment and wants to help preserve the areas it promotes and visits while at the same time being of benefit to the local community.
